Sheet Metal Fabrication FAQs by VIP
What is the first thing I need to work with VIP? Because Vista Industrial Products fabricates parts to print, you will need a PDF file or soft copy to email Sales@vista-industrial.com. Hard copies fax to 760-599-5049. This will initiate a RFQ (Request For Quote).
What is a RFQ? A RFQ or Request For Quote is a package of documents submitted to a company for pricing of parts, assemblies, and/or special processes.
What if I don't have a PDF file or print? If you have a tangible prototype, then drop on in to our facility, and we will be more than happy to discuss your product. Please give us a call to make an appointment at 760-599-5050 and ask to speak to someone in the Business Develop Team.
What if I don't have either a print or prototype? Give us a call at 760-599-5050 and speak to someone in the Business Development Team. We will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
What other information is needed besides prints when I submit the RFQ? When you submit your RFQ (Request For Quote) via email or fax, please let us know the following:
- Expected turnaround time for the RFQ
- Expected manufacturing lead times
- Quantities for current RFQ (Annual Usage if Available)
- Any special requirements if not annotated on print (Example: Specific Packaging Requirements)
Does VIP offer terms? Yes, the standard terms we issue are Net-30. Once you submit your RFQ package, we will email you the appropriate documents to initiate the process for establishing terms.
What type of products does Vista Industrial Products manufacture? Vista Industrial Products produces parts, assemblies and chassis for the electronics, computer, communications, medical, aerospace, defense, scientific, retail, and commercial industries.

What is considered a normal lead time? This depends upon the complexity of the project, but in most cases you should allow for 15 working days to complete your parts.
What about rapid turnaround projects? Vista Industrial Products does offer rush service, for details call 760-599-5050 or e-mail our sales department.

What is the difference between a medium and large run? In general, a medium run of parts would be in the vicinity of 500-1,000 pieces. Anything more than 1,000 would be considered a large run.
Do we manufacture architectural sheet metal? As a general rule no, but we have done various home and business specialty jobs from time to time, and will consider doing jobs that some other shops might be unable to manufacture.
How about heating and air conditioning? No, we do not manufacture parts for this industry.
